M-audio is on a roll with new hardware priced to meet the needs of enthusiasts who step beyond dipping a toe in to try music creation and are ready to get serious about creativity. The iControl connects to a Mac via USB, providing hardware control over individual functions in GarageBand. 8 sets of Mute/Solo/Record buttons provide direct control over individual tracks in GarageBand. 8 individual rotary encoders provide assignable access to volume, stereo panning or auxiliary bus functions. A jog wheel makes shuttling through long tracks to find the right position a breeze. A MIDI connector provides an interface for connecting MIDI keyboards to the iControl for instrument playback in GarageBand. Record and playback functions are assigned individual buttons to eliminate cumbersome mouse clicks during the editing process. It's like a ProTools mixing desk for the masses.
