With the announcement of Canon's new XL H1 at Canon Expo 2005, the world of pro-quality HD recording is starting to get interesting. I tend to think most applications for recording video will not be improved by widespread use of HD. Instead of crisp images, we'll get a Jonathan Swift-like view of people in all their ugly blemished and pock-marked glory up-close and filling our screens.
